ALTERNATE TRAFFIC CONDITIONS WILL APPLY ON

SUNDAY 2ND MAY 2021 

BETWEEN 6:45AM TO 11:30AM

ON SHELL COVE ROAD, Barrack Point &

JUNCTION ROAD, Shellharbour.

On Sunday 2nd May 2021 the second annual Run Shellharbour will be taking place from Eric Creary Park (South) North side of Shellharbour Surf Club. The running event will take place over 4 distances, 42.2km, 21.1km, 10km and 5km.  

Runners will be on Junction Road and Shell Cove Road and then onto the foreshore footpath to Windang Bridge and out to Skiway Park, Oak Flats and return via the foreshore footpath to Shellharbour Surf Club. 

There will be increased foot traffic on the foreshore paths at this time, event volunteers will be on the course footpath to assist with runner and pedestrian safety.

Authorised Traffic Controllers will manage traffic conditions.

The following Road Closures will apply, so please plan your altered route accordingly:

 

JUNCTION ROAD, Shellharbour closed between Wollongong St and Iluka Rd from 6:45am until 11:00am.

Surfrider Caravan park access will be permitted to visitors and residents via authorised Traffic Controllers.

SHELL COVE ROAD, Barrack Point closed from 6:45am until 12:00pm.

This road will be closed to non resident traffic so that runners can run safely on half of the road.

 

Local residents who live on Shell Cove Road WILL BE permitted access to and from their property, but we ask you to plan your travel preferably outside these times as there will be many runners on the entire length of Shell Cove Road from 6:45am until 12:00pm.

Shell Cove Rd residents access will be granted by authorised Traffic Controllers.

SKIWAY CAR PARK, PART CLOSURE from 6:30am until 1:30pm.

The Northern section of Skiway Car Park at Oak Flats will be closed so that runners can safely cross onto the shared footpath. The southern section of the car park will remain open.

The boat ramp will be open but caution should be taken as runners will cross the boat ramp. Course Volunteers will be present in the are to ensure runner safety.

This event has approval from Shellharbour City Council under permit EVT0001/2021.
